STOPware Sales Team Shares Useful Features & Add-Ons
PassagePoint Global and PassagePoint EDU are packed with useful features and add-ons that can be overlooked during product presentations, or even overlooked after a customer has installed and is using the software! Here are some examples:

CONTROL CENTER: Phil Mantia, STOPware, Enterprise Sales Executive, encourages the Control Center Module for any organization that has multiple sites, each with unique needs. From a single location, the Control Center can be used to manage individual logistics for all locations. A good example is a current customer who customizes Global for warehouse locations, garage entry points and visitor management stations in administrative offices.

WATCH LISTS IN GLOBAL: Tito Cardoway, sales executive in STOPware's San Jose headquarters, gets questions on watch lists. Which lists are free? Which have subscription fees?

In the Security tab, internal entries can be made as needed. Under Watch List Import, browse for any "no charge" public list, and import that data. In Global and EDU, under Government list, online computers can import the "Homeland Security list" and the "Denied Persons List" at no charge. The only subscription fees are for criminal or sex offender database searches, available from a national company. For more info about these searches, email sales@stopware.com.

DIRECTORY LINK: When John Izzo, STOPware Enterprise Sales Executive, presents PassagePoint, he sometimes gets questions about the need for the DirectoryLink add-on. John explains that DirectoryLink provides a "real-time" look-up to an employee/host contact database, either through an ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) connection or an LDAP Active Directory link. In big companies, a receptionist or security officer can't be expected to remember every employee's email and contact info, and with Directory Link, PassagePoint immediately finds the current employee data and emails confirmation the visitor has arrived. This improves visitor credentialing and moves the visitor through the lobby faster. A DirectoryLink add-on is needed at every active visitor management workstation, and a DirectoryLink site license is available for customers with a large number of workstations.

E-VISIT PASS: Web pre-registration users have a feature where they can notify visitors and hosts of upcoming visits, comments Roberta Sosbee, STOPware Channel Sales. Checkmark the "email visitor invitation" and the visitor receives confirmation of visit date and time, along with other customizable information. Checkmark "email host reminder" and the employee/host receives confirmation too. The visitor email can also be printed and presented for automatic sign-in and badging, if desired.

National Museum in Washington DC Expands PassagePoint Usage
A National Museum that had PassagePoint GLOBAL installed in one location as a beta site has announced its plan to expand its usage to all of its museums over the next couple of months. The Head of Security was so impressed with the capabilities against competitive products on the market and the beta they have been using, that not only will this expansion include multiple museums, but also all entry points at each museum.

Currently, the museum is using PassagePoint to track visitors by issuing badges with bar codes upon entry and scanning visitors out upon exit. This not only gives the museum a record of all visitors and time spent in the museum, it automatically creates an emergency evacuation report of all visitors on the premises should an evacuation be necessary.

With heightened security concerns, not only will the museum be incorporating the Watch List feature to guard against visitors with criminal records, but the additional entry points will track scientists, contractors and personnel for more complete emergency evacuation reports.

A visitor management system such as PassagePoint is a precautionary measure that should be in place at all museums to ensure all guests are traceable. Although the guest visiting the Louvre earlier this month was detained, having a record of guests in case an incident like this occurs can only further enhance future security concerns.
